In the news this week there has been a spotlight on Karren Brady, a photographer who has won a copyright ruling. The news article itself is interesting but the cautions that it turfs up for the future and current generations of photographers are slightly more concerning. The general feeling that has started to develop is that if you have assistance with setting up a shot, making a scene, posing a model and making up a person for example, those people may well have rights to your work. While on my Holiday vacation in Grants Pass Oregon to visit my parents and grandmother I ventured into a local comic shop. It was a really nice comic shop and had quiet a selection. I was browsing one of the isles when I came across not one but two comics side by side from Anthro artists here on DA! It's pretty amazing and a humbling experience when you stumble across artists work from DeviantART out in the real world! Especially artists you've been following for years! Congrats you two on your accomplishments and sharing your talent and imagination with the rest of us!

The comics I came across are "Lackadaisy" by *tracyjb and "Nordguard - Book One - Across Thin Ice" by *screwbald and Tess Garman !

I think I've seen Lackadaisy in a local comic shop out here in the Bay Area (California). There was a "free comic book" day at a local shop. They handed out "previews" of some comics. I got a dark Crystal one with something else on it. It was something about a mouse, a hawk, a snake and a crab, I do believe.

Anyway, awesome to see different things make it to stores!

Makes me want to really get started on my comic!

Basically there is a lot of anthro if you look at it closely - Disney is one big example. Then a lot of books for children and and and...

I mean with all this stuff happening on TV and in the cinemas and child literature - who'd be surprised that Anthro&Furry is such a popular subculture?

There are quite a lot of non-supporters who are all "giving animals human traits is unnatural and kinky" But they love Disney and other child entertainment with animals walking on two legs and such stuff...

Good to know that there are arists who also try to make Anthro stories more popular among grown ups ^^
