I've Been Chosen

I've been given the immense honor of beta testing the new ArtStroke by DeviantArt! It's a watch that digitally records your strokes! So think of it like a Fitbit but for art! I've been playing around with it for the better part of a month now, and let me tell you, this thing is AMAZING. After allowing some time to pass ( and being hush about it ) I'm finally sitting down and writing a proper review. You can find my official thoughts on it and my goals below that I tend to reach with this device.

ArtStroke In My Life

It's been life changing. I strap it right on my wrist and it's comfortable to wear while I work on my tablet. It has a smooth surface so it glides with ease across my tablet so I don't need to worry about it interfering with my digital art process. It doesn't slow me down at all or 'snag' or scrape against my tablet. It works just as well on paper while I work on traditional pieces. It doesn't feel bulky or get in my way like most watches! Who would've thought that counting your strokes could be so important to an artist and their personal goals. I can literally watch my progress through my artistic endeavors with each stroke and this has truly revolutionized the way I see myself and my art.

Counting Stroke Goals

This device let's me keep track of each stroke I make. I'm setting personal goals on how many strokes I can perform while creating my artwork. It's interesting because it records each 'flick' so I can only imagine how much I can rack up when drawing hair/fur! Right now my highest goal is 10,294 strokes for a digital painting. I think this is so awesome to see digitally because I'm such a visual person. I want to reach 50k for a full digital piece!

Below you'll find a little 'goal' list I've started to record for my own personal use :)

The Future Is Now!

Thank you DeviantArt for this amazing device and even more so, allowing me to be one of the select few to test it out! I look forward to continuing with the beta tests and see just how far I can go! If you want more information, read about it here!
