YCH Showcase - March 2024
YCH artists don't just create art, they spark your imagination with intriguing possibilities. They sketch a scene, a moment, a pose, and you find yourself visualising your character in it. It's more than just a commission, it's about co-authoring an experience with the artist for your character. Welcome to this new feature where we shine a spotlight on YCH artists, their art, and their inspiration. We invite you to enjoy the imaginative worlds they've crafted for characters. And, who knows, you might just find a space for your own character in their art! @MistMiav I'm a Ukrainian artist, who is a refugee at the moment. So, I'm trying to earn money to survive doing my art! Among with YCHs and commissions I like to share personal things - for me putting my experience to the art is a therapeutic thing, and it kinda... gives an opportunity to people to see what's going on with me, personally, and in Ukraine, in general. It's not a huge part of my portfolio as it always takes long to

I want to thank everyone who has written to me over the last few days. Whether it was positive or negative, I appreciate encountering real passion in whatever form it takes. I wrote what is below in response to a thoughtful comment I received, and felt it might be worth sharing with anyone who comes across my page in the days to come. Change can be difficult, I really do understand this. It's especially difficult because this update is such a large one. Usually updates are rolled out more incrementally on networks like ours, so the differences are less glaring. Unfortunately the old version of DA did not get this steady diet of modifications over the years, so this redesign feels a little more jarring as we give the site it's first rejuvenation in many years. We've written personal and public statements saying we're listening to concerns but honestly they mainly fall on deaf ears. I get why too - take an instance where people ask for a change or a feature and we totally agree and
Expand Your Reach with Commissions by team, journal
Expand Your Reach with Commissions
We’re always trying to find ways to empower artists, and a great option to expand your reach and exposure, as well as monetize your material, is by opening yourself up to commissions. Commissions can help unlock business towards your creations. Below are some simple ways to craft the best commission for your future buyers. #1: Be Ready to Take Commissions It's important to check in with yourself and make sure you’ve got the time and responsibility to take commissions. Whether you freelance full-time or create artwork on the side, be honest with yourself on what projects you can take on. This helps you stay on top of your work, maintain a professional relationship with potential clients, and avoid burnout and stress! Remember: you don’t have to accept every commission. Do what works best for you! #2: Know Your Worth Don’t second guess or undervalue your work! If you are accepting commissions, you are investing time, effort, and resources into the finished product, so you should
